〔自由時報記者梁偉銘／綜合報導〕適逢伊斯蘭教傳統齋戒月，每天從日出到日落期間不得進食飲水，這對全隊幾乎是虔誠信徒的阿爾及利亞來說，屆時臨場身心面臨嚴苛考驗，但隊長布格拉強調，信仰遠比賽事重要，他不會為了世界盃而妥協，「有些球員可能選擇延後，我的身體狀況還不錯，會遵守齋戒月相關規定。」

由於16強賽程都在巴西當地下午1時、5時進行，也是一天最炎熱的時段，球員若堅持齋戒，賽前禁食、出賽時又不喝水，健康狀態堪慮，大會決定在現場加派醫護人員待命，阿爾及利亞未雨綢繆，也由國際足總協助，這段期間調整球員們飲食作息，以免影響出賽表現。
